At times we can all feel overwhelmed with our problems and feel alone. Sometimes it’s reassuring to hear that there are other people who are going through similar difficulties in life.

We have a range of options available, please select the one that is relevant to you.

Ways 2 Wellbeing

Would you like to improve your mental health? Do you feel ready to make some changes?

At Hull and East Yorkshire Mind we can help. We use tried and tested methods to provide a personalised plan to improve your mental health. The groups will allow you to meet others experiencing the same problems, at the same time as learning skills that will help you to cope and improve your mental wellbeing.

‘Ways 2 Wellbeing’ is a 6 week programme designed to improve your mental health and wellbeing and provide you with the tools you need to help keep you well. You will create your own action plan and identify your own personal goals using an evidence based system. We will help you to keep track of the positive changes you make. Each session includes time to discuss interesting topics and also time to make friends over a cuppa and a biscuit.

We have chosen topics on a range of common mental health problems and lifestyle issues which may or may not be connected to poor mental health.

Some of the topics we cover are:

  • Confidence building
  • Anxiety management
  • Sleep hygiene
  • Self-esteem
  • How to have fun
  • The benefits of volunteering

If you are interested in attending the Ways to Wellbeing programme you can contact our Information Line on 01482 240133 or email [email protected]

Peer Support

Would you like to improve your mental health? Do you feel ready to make some changes?

At Hull and East Yorkshire Mind we can help. We have a peer support group designed to give you the tools and techniques to recover and stay well. Our 6 week peer support group has the emphasis on building supportive relationships between group members and exploring ways of managing mental well-being through mindfulness and relaxation.

Peer support is when people use their own experiences to help each other. Forms of peer support include:

  • community groups
  • mentoring
  • befriending
  • self-help groups
  • online communities
  • support groups

Support is based on sharing experiences and agreeing a reason for meeting.  Peer support can improve your emotional health, wellbeing and sense of belonging.
