Why is it important to support workplace wellbeing?
Simply put, when employees are physically healthy, their mental wellbeing improves, and vice versa.
Recognising and actively supporting this link doesn’t just make for happier employees – it makes good business sense. It leads to better productivity, fewer sick days, and a team that’s more motivated and satisfied.
What is the impact of poor mental health in the workplace?
When our mental health suffers at work, it affects our focus, output, and how we get along with co-workers.
- In 2021/22, 17 million work days were lost in the UK due to work-related stress, anxiety and depression. That equates to 71 thousand work years.
- The estimated annual cost per employee of poor mental health in Yorkshire & the Humber is £2,075. This includes absenteeism, presenteeism, and staff turnover.
- In the UK, this has a big financial impact on employers, costing them £53-56 billion each year.
- Poor mental health is now the number one reason for employee absence with at least one in six workers experiencing common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression in any given week.
How will this help your organisation?
The return on investment is £5.60 for every £1 invested in organisation-wide early interventions, such as training and raising awareness of mental health issues.
Mental health training helps organisations by teaching employees and managers how to recognise and manage mental ill health at work.
This leads to a healthier and more supportive work environment, boosts productivity, reduces absenteeism, and improves employee satisfaction and retention.
Investing in your employees is the right thing to do.

Why we do it
The workplace and how employees interact within it has changed a lot recently.
Expectations have shifted, making it more important for employees and employers to stay connected. Misalignment can cause stress and anxiety, leading to absenteeism, high staff turnover, and presenteeism.
We believe early interventions can help staff stay resilient, feel supported, and remain engaged and productive.
Promoting positive workplace wellbeing is essential, and we’re here to help you achieve it.
