It’s Mental Health Awareness Week!

By 14/05/2018May 18th, 2018No Comments

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is stress- with campaigns throughout the week highlighting the importance of talking about and managing stress.
We just wanted to use this as an opportunity to remind you about the campaigns we have planned throughout the week and how you can get involved to promote good mental health.
The campaigns and activities we have planned include:

  • An Exam Stress Campaign – The campaign will highlight the importance of managing stress, particularly stress during exam season. Download free exam tips and resources at https://heymind.org.uk/exam-stress – You can also find a video on our Youtube Channel
  • ‘Tea & Talk’ events- where people will be drinking tea and eating cake, as well as talking about mental health in order to raise money and awareness for us. Local businesses, schools and individuals are getting involved.
  • Stigma Busting Campaign – This new campaign is simple. Wear one of our t-shirts for better mental health. Each t-shirt lists things in life that we’re all happy to talk about, but it also includes mental health. Buy one and spread the message that it’s OK to talk about mental health.  You can get yours at www.heymind.teemill.co.uk
  • ASDA Takeover – We will be fundraising and raising awareness throughout the ASDA stores in Hull. Come along to help us #BreakTheStigma – Dates can be found at https://heymind.org.uk/events

And

Drop ins – Come along and have a cuppa and a chat with a member of our staff. Whether you have a mental health query, or want to know more about our services, someone will be able to help. No appointment needed, just turn up!
Locations as follows:

  • Tuesday 15th May 9:30am-11:30am at Hessle Church, Hessle
  • Tuesday 15th May 10am-12pm at Wellington House, Beverley Road, Hull
