Amazing Fundraising this October

By October 29, 2019No Comments

It’s been a busy time for fundraising in October, with three of our own events raising almost £1000.

Our very first ‘Waggy Walk for Wellbeing’ event was held at Bishop Burton College, in partnership with the RSPCA Hull and ER branch. In spite of torrential rain on the day, the event went ahead, and it raised over £350 for each charity. It featured a 2k walk around the college’s hacking track, tombola, cake stall and fun dog show classes which included: dogs with the waggiest tail; best trick; best junior handler; dog that most looks like its owner; best condition for dog’s age, and most awesome eyes.

Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s Vocational Support Worker Di Blacker’s little dog was awarded the overall ‘best in show’ prize.

Through the Mind partnership with the English Football league (EFL), we took part in a fundraising bucket collection at Grimsby Town Football Club. With a great group of volunteers, including James Durcan, Club and Communities Coordinator from Mind, the generous Grimsby supporters gave £421 in donations. Ellie our elephant mascot enjoyed meeting the football club’s mascot ‘The Mariner’!

A fun fashion show at M&Co in Beverley raised over £130 through ticket sales and raffle tickets. Along with other volunteer models, our Marketing & Communications Guru Jack Moore took to the catwalk to show off the store’s latest fashions. We’d like to thank organiser Adrienne Hodgson-Hoy for choosing to support our charity with this event.
