Since Mental Health Awareness Week last month, we have been continuing to spread kindness as part of our #BeKind campaign.
We have recently been working with an individual called John on our Action Towards Inclusion project. The project aims to offer long-term support to people who are unemployed and experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
John told us that he would really benefit from access to a bicycle as part of his ongoing recovery. John is a 55 year old man experiencing anxiety and depression following redundancy and a close family bereavement. We have been supporting John in a number of ways, including counselling, debt management and employability support.
Recently, we were really thrilled to be able offer a FREE bike to John, to aid his recovery and support his future. The bike will allow John to get around his village easily, and help him to make steps to start his own business doing handy work and lawn cutting.
All the best to John from everyone at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind
