New ‘It’s OK to Talk’ Campaign – In partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council

By 27/11/2018No Comments

We are very happy to be working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to promote the message that it’s important to take time to talk about mental health.

Our new campaign will be promoting the message that wherever you are – whether it’s stuck in traffic, at work or out for coffee – it’s good to talk about mental health. Promotions are running in the East Riding and will include a billboard situated on South Bank Lane in Bridlington, as well as adverts on petrol pumps in both Beverley and Anlaby.

Emma Dallimore, Interim Chief Executive at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind said “There is still a stigma associated with mental illness, and people are often made to feel ashamed and isolated because of this. Our new campaign in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council is about all of us being more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives.”

Dr Tim Allison, Director of Public Health at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said “We are happy to be working alongside Hull and East Yorkshire Mind to promote the importance of talking about mental health. We hope that throughout the campaign, more and more people will see our messages and begin a conversation about mental health.”

The charity will also have leaflets and posters distributed to GP surgeries and community venues across East Riding, as well as a social media campaign. The leaflets and posters will contain 5 top tips for having a conversation about mental health.
