Up to my work experience I didn’t have much of a connection to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind bar the few times I visited with mum since she works here. For my work experience I would be spending a week with the marketing team, they share Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s news over social media platforms using graphic designs they create on a website called Canva, they also deal with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s campaigns. They also share internal news inside the company using bulletins.
On my first day I was extremely nervous yet excited, I didn’t know what it was going to be like or what it was I was doing. As soon as I walked into the office everyone was very friendly, we had a brief tour of the building and every one of the staff members where very welcoming.
On the second day the marketing staff, Meg and Jack, reviewed my work and were extremely positive giving me feedback on how I was creating my graphics and what to add/remove from them. We also got introduced into the lovely people behind the Peel Project.
The third day was very fun as were creating our own campaign, learning about what makes a campaign was very exciting and the different graphic designs we had to make were entertaining, Making the campaign was slightly harder than I thought but, in the end, it was extremely enjoyable.
On fourth day we were learning how to make a video on Canva and add audio and other sound effects to make the content engaging.
On the final day we finished and edited our graphic design, we also learnt how to use scheduling software so our posts could be put on social media platforms.
