Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain practical experience for studies and employment and to give something back to the community.

Volunteers are involved in a variety of roles throughout the whole organisation. From befriending and mentoring to fundraising and administration, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind relies on volunteers to help deliver its services supporting people recovering from mental ill health.

Volunteers are a valued part of our team and we work hard to ensure that our volunteers have a rewarding experience. As a volunteer, you will receive a full induction, training and ongoing support as required.

All prospective volunteers are asked to complete an application form. If your application is shortlisted you will be invited to an interview for us to find out a bit more about you and vice versa. Please bear in mind that we generally ask for a minimum six-month commitment for all roles except fundraising.

Some of our current volunteers said the following

“My volunteering has been varied, stimulating and interesting but, perhaps most importantly, it has also rewarded me with that sense of purpose and worth which is essential to our wellbeing.” Stuart (Fundraising & Don’t Look Back)

“You get your own responsibility and workload, yet at the same time get that full time back-up network.” Mark (Don’t Look Back Project)
